Assembling the Short List

I’m still attempting to sell Adapting to someone, despite the fact that AR&E owes me my money back and remain out of contact so far.

Current WIP

The F*ckup Factor

Real life contains… let’s call them mistakes. Errata. Things that can and will go wrong at the worst possible moment.

F*ckin’ Plot Kittens…

In the beginning, for Ee, there was the boot. It crashed down through the ceiling of sticks and leaves that kept most of the rain off of her, and nearly smashed her hand. So she bit the leg that was in it with all the strength she could muster. Cool

Fifty Ways to Help an Artist

The starving artist is a cliche for a reason. These days, you’ve got to be either pretty firkin good or pretty firkin popular for the Hollywood Xerox Machine to take a risk on your stuff.

A Day Late…

Not a dollar short, though, because I get paid today. The reason why I didn’t write this is simple and complicated at the same time: Shitty Internet. When the internet is shitty, I disperse into other activities whilst I wait for That One Gorram Page To Load. In this

Re-Spec Mah Prioritah

I’m in an economic pickle once more. The money I once had has gone to frivolous things like… food. And emergencies. And bills.

Around and Around I Go

You can guess by my picture up there that I haven’t invested much time in Murder Dollhouse. And that’s okay, because people need to recharge every now and again. But I won’t leave this blog empty for a fortnight. So I’m going to trawl through my

Murder Dollhouse

My Traitor Brain

Q: How many writers does it take to change a light bulb? A: Don’t change a f*cking thing!

Murder Dollhouse

The Antagonistic Protagonist

I’m not talking about your average anti-hero here. I’m talking about the piece of shit, the walking garbage fire, the absolute train wreck who is somehow the main character or a main character of the thing you happen to be enjoying. There’s obviously some differences between the

Self Care and the Indie Artist’s Regime

TL;DR- I spent the entire weekend looking after myself and not producing content. Are you mad at me? I was sick. I managed to pick up whatever vile Lurgi seems to be doing the circuit these days, and it’s been my best friend and worst enemy for an

Murder Dollhouse

Culture, Scenery, and Little Details

History left its mark on place names. Victoria. Van Demons Land, then Tasmania. Queensland. New South Wales.

Murder Dollhouse

Location, Location, Location

The most important part of any work of fiction is where the whole mess takes place. New York. Detroit. Hogwarts. An island somewhere in the Indian Ocean. A TARDIS. A space station that ‘just grew’. From the mundane to the fantastic, the location where the story takes place more or

The Irresistible Lure of Plot Kittens

Most fanfic writers have a few ideas circling through the back-burners. Some get them on tap. But all fanfic writers would agree that the darn things just keep on breeding.

I Have a Hero

Yes, folks, I’m playing the long game with a book about empathy with autistic people. And it’s framed as a murder mystery. Go me.

Murder Dollhouse

He’s a cocksure up-and-coming detective who’s been sent to a department to find out what has THAT squad solving crimes at a higher rate. She’s a POC on the spectrum who builds detailed models of crime scenes that no longer exist. They fight crime.

Progress?

I have my email back. Yay. Which means I can field my rejections and hand out my supply of fucks-to-give for as long as they last and to whomsoever deserves them the most. I don’t have a lot, though. I give a fuck for my Primary Parental. I give

Personal Illogic

(Dis)Organised

I think there’s a reason why one of the cities in Hell is called Dis. It starts so many unpleasantnesses. Dispute, disarray, disability… and disorganised. [And let me make it clear here and now that having a disability is made extra unpleasant by all the abled people running around

Repairs in progress?

I asked my Beloved how the site fixing is going and they said it could well be done today! Spoiler alert – if it isn’t, tomorrow’s blog is going to be dipped in lava-hot snark. If it is… this may be the last entry you get for weeks on

My Usual Site is Down

This may be your only warning to take cover. Because I’m about to get my rant on.

Am I Doing it Wrong?

I’m working as hard as I can at making this Indie thing into a career. I’m sending manuscript samples off to potential agents. I’m doing a daily flash fiction to gain an audience base. I’ve recently started attempting to advertise my stuff on social media.

Valerian and the Gigantic Mess (Spoilers)

What’s not to love? Cool aliens, ladies taking charge and kicking butt. A space station that could be the same mass as a planet… My kind of jam. And then I actually saw the movie.

The Importance of Doing Nothing

Sometimes, you wind up doing nothing all day. And some days, that's just fantastic.

Bury Your Black Gays… Again and Again [Spoiler Warning]

It’s confirmed. Steven Moffat really likes killing black gays. And he likes it so much that he’s contrived a method of killing the same black gay over and over and over again.

Half a Wit to Spare

I have possibly the world’s worst timing. Just seconds after deciding to run a WordPress and a Patreon, as well as all my other blogs… I also committed to some regular activity that has me busy off of my arse two days out of the week.
