Reasons to Love: Brainworms by MisterCrowbar

It's no surprise that I adore the game Baldur's Gate 3 even though I've hardly had the extended hours free to play it. To scratch my itch in that direction, I've been following more than a few fanartists on Tumblr. One of those artists can be found here if you don't have a tumblr account.

They have a way of capturing character that is amazing to me. Even if you don't go there, you have a decent chance of falling in love with all the characters therein. Which includes MisterCrowbar's own "Tav", Aldiirn.

A word for the uninitiated about "Tav"... In the game, "Tav" is the default name for the player's original character. Thus, the entire fandom has latched onto this and started using "Tav" as a descriptor for their in-game created characters.

People will show screencaps or artwork and caption them as "my Tav" with any and all extraneous information following that.

Aldiirn is MisterCrowbar's creation. A shy and scarred half-Drow Bard with -of course- issues. What is an Adventurer without a tragic past? Not a great Adventurer, that's what.

MisterCrowbar's comics cover events in the game as well as gags regarding the relationships between the characters and Aldiirn. There's a running gag about the brainworms making everyone horny and I love it. Especially since Aldiirn is at least Demi.

There's amazing art to appreciate and a storyline submitted in a nonlinear fashion. Though you can read what's there from beginning to end in order. I've been following MisterCrowbar's comic since this example, and I thoroughly recommend you try it out.

It's Astarion putting on a bib before he feeds that gets me every time.

This is sequential fanart so good that I've written a couple of fanfictions about it. One of which, I still have no idea where to share it. That's a problem for another day.

In the meantime, enjoy the rich tapestry of Aldiirn's adventures according to MisterCrowbar. They're amazing.
